"Z-zack... I got shot too." Those were the last few words that I heard from Czar before her head fell back and she tumbled backward. I tried t run after her but I was sore, and the pain from my arm shot through me to pull me back on the stretcher.
But I saw her.
Her head bled, her arm at an awkward angle. Colin had come to her aid and took her jacket off. Later he told me that she had a high fever and was sweating profusely, which was why he took it off. I saw her shirt, bloodstained. I saw her face, peaceful.
Medics came to help her and I was transported and operated on.
Someone was lying right beside me. I stretched my hand and combed her hair. "Czar..." I said. "I'm very sorry... This is all my fault." But then the girl straightened and looked at me right in the face. My vision was blurred, I could not decipher who it was. She spoke. It was Bree, not Czar. "Zack," she told me. "Czar... she's gone. I'm sorry but Czar is gone. She bled too much and she..."
"Well, she passed away."
My heart broke down then. No this can't be happening. NO.
I woke up. Someone was lying right beside me. I tried to stretch out my hand but my arm hurt. "Uhm..." The girl looked up. My vision was blurred, I could not decipher who it was. She spoke. What a beautiful voice. She had a cast on and there was a band on her head. Yes, this is Czar. "Zack? You're awake!"
I looked at her, confused. "Czar... don't you have more injuries than I do? How come you're already here? Aren't you sick or anything?"
She laughed. "Zack, that doesn't matter!" She told me. "I just wanted to see if my best friend was alright."
I looked at her with pity and more confusion. I was a man, after all, but it wouldn't hurt to cry at times. My eyes were watery. "Oh, c'mon, Zack! Look at me, I'm okay!" With that she stood up. But then in a flash, she was in pain and she clutched her stomach. She had her hand on the bed and moments later she fell unconscious in my arms.

the only difference between you && me
is that you're you... and I'm me.
